Style: The one where I got called out.

Spring has brought out this major love for white in me. Although I’ve been slightly in love with this creamy decadence of a color (if we wanna call white a color) in every other area of my life, it hasn’t really been until this season that I’ve been playing with the idea of letting it be the main focus in my wardrobe.

But let me tell you, it feels so fresh! I am enjoying the light airiness that is my wardrobe so much that I’ll catch myself just staring at it, instead of getting dressed. Yeah, this is what a capsule SHOULD be like, versus the look of anger  that passed over my face last month. There is just a lightness in this season. It feels breathable, and soft, and like I could relax any place at any time, no matter the circumstance. And let’s face it, I have been needing a little bit of that in my life.

With this new found excitement for white I’ve been hunting for the perfect white jean. Go ahead and laugh. I know you’re all thinking the same thing: They don’t exist. Well, I’m here to tell you… you’re right. They don’t. Anywhere. These white jeans in the world all keep calling out to me, “I’ll be perfect, just try me on.” “We can do this, together.” And other corny things clothing might say to you to get you to buy them. But they’re all wrong! I have been like all of the people who weren’t Aladdin searching for the Cave of Wonders. Impossibly dragging myself through the dark desertlike heat, crumbling to my knees at every storefront begging my pants to appear.

Let me cut to the chase here. I ended up scouring Nordstrom online in hopes that it would come to my rescue. I quickly had two pairs that looked very promising sent to my front door. One of them had to work. I waited impatiently for their arrival and within a few days I was opening the box with ravaging anticipation. Yes, ravaging. (I know this story is sounding a little dramatic… But, this is serious business.)

The box flung to the floor, the bags ripped wide open, and the first pair slid on. And, ugh. Too… something. Too cropped? Too off white? Too not perfect.

Then came the next pair. And, double ugh. Too tight. Too see through. Too long.

How do I fix this problem? I could cut the bottoms off and crop them. They weren’t that see through, right? And the tightness made my bum look awesome so maybe my suffocating legs weren’t that big of a deal.

This was such a dilemma for me that I ended up asking a few friends for advice, which not so perfect pair of jeans should I pretend to love in order to end my ongoing quest? And then it happened. I got called out and Capsule Wardrobe slapped in the face as a dear friend calmly said, “Isn’t the point of your wardrobe to love every item in your closet and stop making excuses for clothes that don’t work?”

So, here I sit, after three weeks of intense hunting, pants-less. Well, not literally. I am actually sitting here wearing pants, but no white pants. I am not, however, filling my closet and wasting money on items that don’t fill my heart with joy. So, success.

I won’t give up though! Bow down white pants, for I am coming after you! I WILL find you! (Insert evil laugh here.)

For now a comfy cozy Tuesday type outfit.

Oh, and I changed my hair!! If you follow my Instagram then you’ve probably already seen it, and heard my ramblings of how much I love it! I still have a few photos from pre new hair that I haven’t posted yet, so you’ll be seeing them mixed in over the next few weeks. But I can’t wait to start sharing the new do! It looks a little something like this 🙂

Yep, I gave in to what they’re calling the “granny hair” trend. I’d had it pretty similar to this years ago and I am feelin right at home having it back. What do you guys think of this grey hair trend?

Oh, also, can you help me out? Where, someone please tell me where, can I find the perfect white jean?!?!

With Love.
