Style: My Winter Capsule

The truth of doing a capsule wardrobe for the first time: You run into a good handful of things that weren’t considered very well. The thing I hadn’t really considered as well as I thought I had is that winter in Kansas City can be really stinkin cold!

I had initially been so in love with my fall capsule that I thought transitioning it into my winter wardrobe, but just adding one or two pieces would be a perfect solution. I could just layer a little more, right? Well I was wrong. The only thing I have been wanting ever since January hit is comfort and warmth. And although my fall capsule was fairly comfortable and fairly warm, it just wasn’t quite enough.

So here I am mid January, and I’m wearing the same two pairs of pants and four sweaters every single day. I need an upgrade in the winter capsule department if I’m going to make it through this season without turning into an unfashionable icicle.  So I did a little shopping. I was able to add a few new pieces to my wardrobe over this weekend, which I am SO excited about beccause they are the epitome of comfortable and warm, but I am most certainly still in need of a few other items to be replaced.

My tanks pretty much went out the window (except a basic black cami which I don’t count much towards my capsule as it serves more as an undergarment than anything) and my oversized sweaters are getting some major stage time.

As I continue stocking up on huge chunky knits, I will try to keep you all updated. But for now, here where my wardrobe stands! At a tiny little 25. (I do most of my shopping at stores that have a constant rotation of clothing, and rarely keep things in stock for long. Click on the photo for the item pictured or something similar)

I know I’m looking to add some colorful joggers but other than that I’m feeling a little stuck! What can you not get enough of this winter? Any thoughts on some fun things I could add to my capsule?

With Love.
